Planning Inspectorate believes it’s a Public Enquiry, but guess what SBDC thinks?

Congratulations Stoke Poges – the arguments that many villagers have put forward as to why the EFA/KSA Appeal should be a public enquiry have been heard. The Inspectorate is concerned that an Informal Hearing (2 day process) is NOT appropriate because of the traffic and noise issues which objectors (SPPC and village campaigners) will wish to raise. With so much local interest the Inspectorate unsurprisingly wants the greatest transparency possible so that democracy is given full rein.

So, everyone agrees. Urhh, no. SBDC – your local elected body – are saying that a public enquiry is a disproportionate response to the issue. You would really have to ask yourself whose side these people are on? And the fact that such a view can be held in an election year only serves to explain why people aren’t voting for politicians such as this.

Who made this decision at SBDC? Was it made by the cabinet, an officer, or a local government employee? Many in the village will wish to write to him or her to ensure that their views are on the record … the words unrepresentative, undemocratic, and misunderstanding of the case all spring to mind.
